Hello Goodbye
Boston has been waving for several months now. Until the last couple of weeks, it has been a consistent, from the shoulder, entire arm wave. And for a long time he would only wave hello, not goodbye. Nobody likes long goodbyes anyway. So a couple of weeks ago he started waving goodbye, and then he just started waving all the time. It has kinda replaced roll it and roll it to a small degree. He waves at everyone in every store. All the ladies at the doctors office gave him a group goodbye and he went nuts waving and grinning. Even if you are hanging out in the same room, he will wave happily ever time you look at him. He waves to stuffed animals, and a few pictures. He even occasionally waves goodbye when you put him down to sleep. My personal favorite, is waving at the phone when Papa is on speaker phone. Then this last week, he started waving from the wrist. We thought this was such an accomplishment of course. We are constantly telling him hello and waving like idiots to get him to do it back. Then a couple of days, he started waving from just the fingers. So funny, because now he does what so many babies do, he waves backwards, or to himself.

Holes
Boston has recently made some new, if a little gross, discoveries. It started with my nose. He would do anything and everything he could to stick his finger up my nose. No effort on my part could deter him. Occasionally he would try and stick his finger in my mouth, but really he just likes to go for the nose. And then he discovered his ears. Mostly just his right ear. He would poke at it and pull at it, until the wonderful day that he found the ear canal, and in went the finger. Such a great storage place for a finger in the way. Sometimes he will just hold it there, other times he rotates it back and forth back and forth......Then, this last week, he found his own nose. Bet you can guess what happened. Anyone who truly knows me, knows that I have a serious revulsion and instant gag reflex to noses and nose picking. I think it is never ok. Get a friggin tissue. So I have not been to pleased about this new development. The only positive side, he isn't actually picking, just using it as finger storage. He just lets it hang out there, sometimes it is just a poke to make sure it is still there and available when he needs it later. Every other new discover has made me so excited, this time, I really hope it doesn't last.

Odds & Ends
Here are a bunch of left over pictures that didn't really fit in with any other blog. So enjoy the randomness.
Boston has discovered the pan cubboard. He loves to pull them all out and then drag them along the floor. I am sad that I don't have a drawer that can just be his full of tupperware or something indestructable. This will be the only door I don't put a safety lock on.

We went to the childrens museum in Milwaukee this weekend. We had gone up for Andy's basketball games, and someone failed to inform our entire team that the games had been pushed back more than 3 hours. So we had to find something to do, there was no way we were going home and coming back again. We had a lot of fun though. Biggest problem was being unprepared for an all day trip where food was involved. I will over plan from now on. Amazingly I didn't have to pay for this photo. You take it yourself and they email it to you.
So cute, an obviously terrified Uncle Matt holding Boston when he was just a few months old. Doesn't Boston look so cute. I am pretty sure he was never really that small.
Boston showing yet one more way that he is just like his Papa.
A very old picture of Boston getting ready for lunch. I'm already in trouble, I have no idea how old he is here. Time to start printing pictures and dating them I guess. I'm going to need a small loan to print them all off.

Boston's Favorite Things
Here are a few examples of Boston's favorite things. Which include, in no specific order, running back and forth between Andy and I, walking around aimlessly, just because he can, holding his bat, tasting his bat, hitting the walls with his bat, hitting his own head with his bat, surveying his kingdom.
Oh, it is such hard work to be a little boy.
Look Mama, here I come!
Oh, faked you out, I'm going back to Papa.
Allright, I think I'm ready to come see you now Mama.
Or maybe turn around and walk back to Papa,
Now come back to Mama.
Snack on my favorite bat. Mmmm, tastes orange.
Taking a walk...
Think I'll go this way now....
Oh, I think I will run to Papa, gotta bring my bat.
Papa's gonna get you.
So Funny.
He is just such a happy baby, and boy does he love that bat.
A little blurry, he was on the move, but I just love close-ups.
So sad I didn't get his whole face, but I love how excited he is, how hard he is laughing, and that he won't let go of that bat.
Checking out the neighborhood....again.
Oh, it is such hard work to be a little boy.
So many pictures, so little time. No teasing, he's so cute how could I really just pick a few.

Snow Update
So we took the car in to see how much it was gonna cost to get it fixed. We are looking at $250 -$350. I was shocked. When you think of a broken "something" that makes your car undriveable, you think clutch, battery, trasmission, not window wipers. It is just so dangerous and scary not to have them. So I've learned my lesson, listen the first time you get the prompting, don't ask for more encouragment, it's expensive.
Also, the weather was so warm (I use the term loosely) yesterday, it started to melt all the snow. Then the temp dropped at night and everything is solid ice with a new dusting of snow on it. I just about killed myself trying to shovel what I thought was just a new inch of snow, ice gives the shovel a real kick back.

Snow Day
So we have had quite the adventure today. We were supposed to go down to southern Illinois. Andy had a court case for Discover. We had planned to leave this evening but the weather forcast was so bad, upwards of 14+ inches, we decided to leave early. I had to work really hard to juggle my appointments around to accomodate this. Then at the last minute they canceled because of the weather. So we got all loaded up and started on our way. We said a prayer and started out, the roads were horrible. They are terrible about plowing here on a good day, so they haven't kept up at all today. I was feeling nervous and asked Andy if he thought this was worth it. He said he didn't know. I said I don't know if I was just nervous or if the Lord was telling me this is a very bad idea. He said he couldn't decide either. So we were only about 5 or so miles from our house, not even to the freeway yet, when it started to get really scary. The road didn't even have tire tracks to follow and we had no idea where the road was. I started to pray to myself, saying if we were supposed to forget the trip He was gonna have to make me sure that it was Him and not just me. Then the snow on top of the car started to slide forward onto the windshield. We had aleady got several inches up there. We could see the big chunks coming but I thought the wipers could handle them. It did ok with the first couple of dumps. Then a large one fell just as the wipers were trying to go up. I heard a pop and I told Andy to turn them off, pull over and I would just clean the snow of so as to not ruin the wipers. We couldn't tell where the road ended so we turned on the hazards and tried to pull off. I jumped out and clean it all off. Got back in and they didn't work. Flat busted. It is snowing so hard, and the spray from other people tires made it impossible to just go on. So we turned around, with the intention of stopping as needed to get out and move the wipers manually. We considered just trading cars but neither of us wanted to drive the stick in this snow. So I called the mechanic to see if we could get it fixed quickly. He said he would have to order a part. So we knew we were done. Guess we got an answer to prayer. So as we were driving home, the whole stopping to jump out, was just not working. So I rolled my window down, hung out the car, and pushed the wipers and far as I could back and forth from the passenger seat. Andy had to lean way down to see the cleared area, my arm nearly got frost bite, and the wind was blowing so that the snow stung my arm. But we thought it safer than stopping every few minutes, jumping out to clean it, and faster to just get home. People were laughing at us all the way home but it worked. Andy called the lawyer to get a continuance for the case and then we just played all day.
My frozen sleeve after being a human window wiper.
Just showing how deep the snow is, up to my knees. I couldn't work my way to the bottom either.
This one is more to show off the awesome cover on my neighbors snowblower. This is very common.
Just plopped in after all that heavy shoveling.
Snow Angel
Building my first snowman
Getting bigger
Yeah! Look for the stick arms and mouth
From the unplowed street. Look at where the bushes should be on the left side of the porch. They come just a little above the cement of the porch, which is four steps high, the snow is only a couple of inches short of being even with the bushes. You can also tell by the difference in space under the windows. On the right window we had scooped out a lot of the snow for the snowman.
We had gone out to shovel, then played and built the snowman. After we played, we had to shovel again. I am guessing if I went out right now, I could shovel a third time.

Chapped
Last night I dreamed I was being attacked by a cat with very sharp claws, I was protecting myself with my hands. Then it turned into some sort of fishhook stuck in my hands. It was so painful it woke me up. Turns out it was my dry chapped hands cracking and bleeding in real life. Didn't know physical pain could manifest itself in your dreams.
